Rocky Flats Stewardship Council

Fact Sheets

While there is a great deal of information in the public record about the history of Rocky Flats, remediation efforts, and ongoing management needs, it is often difficult to sift through and can be extremely complex.  The following briefing papers address the key issues and questions people most commonly have about the site.

Briefing Papers:

  1. History of Rocky Flats and Cleanup of the Site
  2. How Clean is “Clean”
  3. Off-Site Lands
  4. Overview of The Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge
  5. Rocky Flats Timeline
  6. Senator Wayne Allard Statement on Cleanup of Rocky Flats
  7. Representative Mark Udall Statement on Cleanup of Rocky Flats
  8. Overview of Rocky Flats Stewardship Council
  9. Map of Stewardship Council member governments

In addition to these briefing papers, additional information about residual contamination can be found here

Finally, during cleanup two local government/citizen organizations – the Rocky Flats Coalition of Local Governments and the Rocky Flats Citizens Advisory Board – actively monitored and engaged on site activities.  Their letters, reports, meetings minutes and other documents, most of which are preserved on this website, provide a good accounting of cleanup issues.
